Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Millwright / Electrician for a permanent position based in Ladysmith. You will perform maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, diagnose faults, and ensure safety compliance. Job description

Millwright / Electrician position available inLadysmith.

An opportunity for an experienced Millwright / Electrician is available for permanent employment based in Ladysmith.

A reputable and well-established manufacturing operation in the Ladysmith region is looking to appoint a skilled and qualified Millwright or Electrician to join their technical maintenance team.

Salary: TCTC R40 000 – R45 000 kpm (available/negotiable).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Diagnose faults on hydraulics, pneumatics, and motors (electrical & mechanical).
• Work with roll-forming machinery and systems used in the industry.
• Execute fault finding on production equipment using Siemens and Rockwell-based PLC systems.
• Participate in routine machine inspections, servicing schedules, and emergency repairs.
• Assist with production support tasks to reduce downtime and improve line efficiencies.
• Ensure safety compliance and machinery integrity in line with engineering standards.
• Accurately complete job cards and maintenance reports.
• Liaise with production and engineering teams on technical issues and plant upgrades.

Requirements:

• Trade Test: Millwright or Electrician (Red Seal) + Matric (Grade 12)
• Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in a maintenance role within a production or industrial manufacturing environment
• Solid knowledge of fault finding in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Exposure to automated and semi-automated production lines
• Experience working with PU (polyurethane), Chromadek, or panel-forming machinery advantageous
• Understanding of Siemens and Rockwell PLC systems
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as required
• Local Ladysmith residency required
