Job summary

Sleep Group is seeking a Millwright to perform preventative maintenance and breakdown coverage for our facilities in a manufacturing environment. You will ensure all machines operate properly, maintain safety standards, and use specialized tools to repair and install industrial equipment.

Requirements include a Grade 12/Matric, a Millwright Trade Test, and 3–4 years of post-trade experience in manufacturing. Teamwork and strong electromechanical knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years’ post-trade Millwright experience

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in the maintenance of specialized machines
• Work in a team and ensure the complete functioning of all machinery
• Strong knowledge of electromechanical manufacturing processes
• Assisting with an accurate bill of materials
• Ensure suppliers compliances to high standard of parts needed
• Maintain and test all equipment / machinery to ensure functionality, safety and availability to complete work within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits
• Ensure that components causing excessive downtime are identified and permanent solutions are found and implemented
• Perform Condition Based Maintenance on equipment
• Be responsible for the diagnosis, testing and repair of electrical and mechanical failures on equipment
• Duties and responsibilities are not limited to this, follow management scope

Job description

The main purpose is to do preventative maintenance and breakdown cover for the department. Your role is to make sure that all machines operate properly, and our facilities remain safe. You will also make use of specialized tools to build and repair machines as well as be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.

• Grade 12 or technical Matric
• Trade Test (Millwright)
• 3 - 4 years’ relevant post trade experience as a Millwright
• Experience in the manufacturing and sewing environment would be highly beneficial
