Job summary

HelloKindred in South Africa is seeking a Mid-Weight Motion & Video Designer to own end-to-end motion projects across digital platforms. This hybrid role requires 3 days in-office and a 12-month contract. You will collaborate with branding and marketing teams to deliver high-quality content on brand.

Requirements include 4+ years in motion design, strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, and a portfolio of motion/video work; AI content creation experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of experience in motion design and video production.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of motion design and video projects.
• Experience with Adobe Workfront is preferred.
• Experience using AI for content and generative creation.
• Excellent understanding of animation principles, storytelling, and visual composition.
• Experience working with a Brand Design System.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with sound design and audio editing.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards for inclusive design.

Responsibilities

• Create and produce high-quality animations, motion graphics, and video content for web, social media, presentations, and events.
• Own assigned motion and video projects independently, from brief to final delivery.
• Lead storyboarding, design, editing, and post-production processes.
• Develop storyboards and concepts aligned with briefs and brand guidelines.
• Incorporate graphics, titles, lower thirds, transitions to elevate production quality.
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, copywriters, and stakeholders to realize concepts.
• Generate innovative ideas for motion and video projects to convey messages effectively.
• Work with branding to maintain motion design templates and assets.
• Ensure content adheres to brand guidelines and visual style.
• Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Communicate progress and address challenges with the team.
• Use industry-standard software (After Effects, Premiere Pro) and related tools.
• Maintain an organized library of assets and files.
• Stay updated with trends in motion design and video production.
