Job summary

ATS Client in Cape Town is seeking an Intermediate C# Developer to join a modern software engineering team. You will work with developers and solution architects to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing software using .NET, RESTful APIs, and TypeScript.

The role emphasizes cloud and DevOps practices, containerized deployments, and hands-on experience with live services. A SaaS startup background is preferred, and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related field (preferred), or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of full-time professional software development experience in a team environment.
Experience in Agile, cross-functional product teams.
Experience in SaaS product company startup or scaleup is preferred.
Solid proficiency in backend development, with some frontend exposure (C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, TypeScript).
Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures and algorithms, version control, and collaborative workflows.
Experience with SQL/NoSQL datastores, preferably Entity Framework Core.
Experience with modular monolith and/or microservices architectures.
Experience owning CI/CD pipelines and deployment environments for services built and shipped.
Experience operating live services in production: monitoring, alerting, triaging incidents, and durable fixes.
Proficiency provisioning Azure or AWS resources (portal, CLI, or IaC); Bicep preferred.
Knowledge of SaaS/PaaS concepts, multi-tenancy, availability, scalability.
Container build/deploy experience (Docker, Azure Container Apps).
Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and quality.
