Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Microbiologist to join our Mossel Bay laboratory. You will conduct microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples and finished products to ensure safety and quality.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology or a related life science, 2–4 years of hands-on lab experience, and strong GMP knowledge with aseptic techniques and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology or related life science.
• 2–4 years of hands-on microbiology laboratory experience.
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques and various microbiological assays.
• Knowledge of GMP and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Experience with microbial identification systems and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Isolate, identify, and characterize microorganisms using culture-based and molecular methods.
• Develop and validate new microbiological test methods.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure regulatory compliance and SOP adherence.
• Conduct environmental monitoring programs and interpret results.
• Investigate and report on microbial contamination or deviations.
