Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch, Western Cape invites a meticulous Calibration Technician with a strong background in metrology to join our client’s precision manufacturing team. You will calibrate and validate diverse instruments, maintain calibration schedules, and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 quality systems.

You will document results, support engineering and production in addressing measurement challenges, and stay current with metrology advancements in a state-of-the-art laboratory

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of metrological principles and calibration techniques.
• Experience calibrating diverse measurement instruments.
• Familiar with ISO 9001/ISO 17025 quality systems.
• Proficient in using calibration software and LIMS.
• Excellent documentation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and verify a range of instruments (dimensional, electrical, pressure, temperature, flow).
• Use standards traceable to national/international metrology institutes.
• Document calibration results and adjustments in quality systems (ISO 17025).
• Identify instruments needing repair or replacement; initiate procedures.
• Develop and maintain calibration schedules.
• Troubleshoot calibration issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams.
