About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Precision Instrument Calibration Technician to join their facility in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, ZA. This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of a wide range of measurement instruments used in various industries. You will be responsible for performing calibration, verification, and repair of electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments, adhering to strict quality standards and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of metrology, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of accuracy. Key Responsibilities

• Calibrate and verify a variety of precision instruments, including pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and electrical test equipment.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of measurement instruments.
• Develop and maintain calibration records and certificates in compliance with industry standards.
• Ensure all calibration activities are performed according to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions and identify root causes of inaccuracies.
• Assist in the selection and procurement of new calibration equipment and standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized calibration laboratory.
• Stay updated on the latest calibration techniques and standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams regarding instrument accuracy.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Calibration Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of metrology principles and calibration techniques.
• Experience with various types of measurement instruments and calibration equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and standards.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in using calibration software.
• Relevant technical qualification or certification in calibration or a related field is preferred.
• Understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is advantageous.
