Placements24 is seeking an experienced Metallurgical Superintendent for its mining client in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. Lead metallurgical operations, manage a team, and drive safe, reliable processing to maximize recovery and product quality.

The role requires a strong technical background in mineral processing, proven supervisory experience, and a track record of process improvements in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years in mineral processing, with 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; safety-minded.

Responsibilities

• Supervise metallurgical plant operations across crushing, milling, flotation, leaching and refining.
• Ensure operations stay within design parameters for optimal recovery and specs.
• Monitor performance, analyze data, and drive improvements.
• Lead and mentor metallurgists, technicians, and operators with a focus on SHE.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement timely solutions.
• Manage consumables and chemicals to control costs.
