Job summary

Black Pen Recruitment is seeking a detail-oriented Onboarding Agent to guide new merchants through the payment gateway onboarding process in Cape Town. You will verify business information, perform due diligence and maintain accurate records so applications are ready for approval and integration.

This role combines merchant communication, document verification and compliance administration. You will keep applications moving, provide Back Office training and refer risk, compliance and specialist

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NSC or equivalent required.
• Diploma in Business Administration, Banking or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years exp in merchant onboarding, KYC/KYB, FICA or payments back office.
• Intermediate Excel and experience with structured checklists/electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Manage onboarding applications from Commercial handover and check document completeness.
• Verify business registration, addresses, activities and licences, and directors/representatives authority.
• Identify and verify ultimate beneficial owners in complex ownership structures.
• Complete sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening; refer findings to Risk/Compliance.
• Prepare due diligence packs for approval and ensure conditions are met before handover to Integration.
• Capture verified business, contact and banking information and submit for verification.
