Job summary

The Building Company in George is seeking a Stock Clerk/Merchandiser to ensure stock is properly located, binned and displayed across all racks, bays and gondolas while maintaining clean display areas. You will manage stock, assist customers, support merchandising standards, and contribute to achieving sales and gross profit targets.

The role requires a Grade 12 and 1–2 years in a similar position with knowledge of building materials.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position.
• 1 year’s shelf packing/merchandising experience.
• Knowledge of general building material environment is essential.
• Proven success in personal selling (achieving sales targets) and customer service, finding new business and converting it to sales.
• Ability to manage and coordinate regular stock takes.
• Interact with customers.
