North-West University’s Desmond Tutu School of Medicine in Potchefstroom seeks a Medical IT Technician to support educational technologies, simulation systems, and digital learning platforms within the Clinical Skills and Simulation Unit.

The role covers maintenance of simulation equipment, OSCE support, AV/recording systems, and LMS administration. A relevant IT degree and experience in medical education technology are desirable.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in IT/CS/Biomedical Tech/Electronics or Electrical Engineering (NQF 7).
• Postgrad diploma in Educational Technology is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years’ technical support experience in an institutional/corporate IT environment (medical education preferred).
• Experience in supporting clinical simulation equipment or advanced audiovisual systems (1–2 years).
• Experience with LMS/digital learning platforms and recording systems (1–2 years).

Aufgaben

• Install, configure and operate medical simulation technologies and AV systems.
• Program simulation scenarios and support OSCEs.
• Maintain and service simulation equipment and patient monitoring devices.
• Manage e-learning platforms and LMS support.
• Provide user training and develop technical guides.
• Assist with equipment procurement and inventory management.
• Support website updates for the Desmond Tutu School of Medicine.
• Support staff during training sessions and assessments.
