Job summary

Qualifications

• National Diploma (T/N/S streams) or equivalent, or N3 with a passed trade test in Mechanical, or Registration as an Engineering Technician.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Check that new and maintenance work on project sites complies with regulations and legislation.
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality control on site and in progress work.
• Develop estimates of repairs and costs for minor new work and maintenance.
• Maintain electronic records of ongoing and finalised work and generate progress reports.
• Prepare and interpret plans, sketches and specifications; participate in adjudication of quotations.
• Liaise with stakeholders on technical aspects and guide contractors on regulations.
• Process payment documents and variation orders; ensure effective contract administration.
• Gather and submit information for the Extended Public Works Programme (EPWP).
