Job summary

Part of nGAGE Talent Limited seeks an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Inspector to support a major industrial construction project in Gauteng. The role ensures mechanical equipment and installations meet engineering specs and quality standards on site.

You will conduct inspections, manage ITPs and NCRs, and coordinate with contractors, engineers and commissioning teams to achieve handover readiness. Previous generator, mining or heavy engineering project experience is preferred, with a strong eye

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline.
• Approximately 5+ years of QA/QC or mechanical inspection experience within industrial or engineering environments.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications and inspection procedures.
• Understanding of ISO quality management principles and applicable industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality inspections across mechanical equipment, assemblies and installation activities.
• Develop, implement and monitor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Verify that installations comply with approved engineering drawings, technical specifications and applicable quality standards.
• Inspect mechanical components, fabrication work, equipment installations and associated systems.
• Witness relevant inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
• Identify workmanship defects, installation discrepancies and nonconforming materials.
• Raise, investigate and track Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
• Review quality documentation and participate in internal/external quality audits.
• Ensure adherence to safety requirements and engineering specifications.
