Job summary

Network Finance is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead turnkey process plant projects across mining, minerals processing, hydrometallurgy, chemical, water treatment and industrial sectors.

From concept to commissioning you will manage multidisciplinary teams, prepare designs and specifications, monitor schedules and budgets, liaise with clients and suppliers, and drive safety and engineering excellence on site.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 5+ years' experience in mechanical project engineering in process plant or heavy industrial environments.
• Proven experience delivering projects from design through fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of process plant equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure project execution.
• Prepare and review mechanical designs, specifications, datasheets, and equipment selections.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and contractor performance.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, fabricators, and site personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee FAT, SAT, installation and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost optimization, and engineering excellence.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our growing engineering team, delivering turnkey process plant solutions across the mining, minerals processing, hydrometallurgical, chemical, water treatment, and industrial sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to manage projects from concept through commissioning while working with multidisciplinary engineering teams on technically challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept, design, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Prepare and review mechanical engineering designs, technical specifications, datasheets, and equipment selections.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and contractor performance.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, fabricators, and site personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee fabrication, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), installation, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost optimization, and engineering excellence.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical project engineering within process plant or heavy industrial environments.
• Proven experience delivering projects from design through fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
• Strong understanding of process plant equipment and systems.
• Experience working in one or more of the following industries:
