Job summary

Talent Fox SA in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to ensure the reliability and safe operation of high-speed packing lines and grain-handling equipment.

The role involves preventative maintenance, repairs, installation and fault finding on conveyors, gearboxes and related machinery, with a focus on safety and efficiency within a food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Trade-tested Mechanical Fitter required.
• Hands-on experience maintaining industrial equipment.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and perform root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs on production equipment.
• Maintain conveyors, gearboxes, shafts, pulleys, bearings and bucket elevators.
• Service grain cleaners, aspiration systems and material-handling equipment.
• Install, assemble, align and calibrate mechanical machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and minimise production downtime.
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ, food safety and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Complete maintenance job cards accurately and timeously.
