Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter for our workshop in Soweto, Gauteng. The role covers assembly, maintenance and repair of heavy industrial machinery, with hands-on, on-site duties and strict safety standards.

Applicants should have a Mechanical Fitter trade qualification and at least 4 years of experience, with proficiency in reading drawings, hydraulics and power transmission, working both independently and in teams.

About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of heavy industrial equipment and services, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter for their workshop operations in Soweto, Gauteng. This position is essential for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of complex heavy machinery used across various industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, precision fitting skills, and a comprehensive understanding of heavy equipment components and systems. This is a hands‑on, on‑site role requiring direct involvement in workshop activities. You will be responsible for ensuring all equipment is assembled and maintained to the highest standards, contributing directly to the operational success of our client's Soweto facility and their clients' projects.
