Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Fitter in Cape Town, Western Cape, to lead assembly, installation, testing and maintenance of complex mechanical systems across industrial projects.

The role requires interpreting drawings, fabricating components and ensuring precise assembly while upholding safety and quality standards, with on-site leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Extensive ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Proficient in using workshop tools and machining equipment (lathe, milling) and welding.
• Strong mechanical principles knowledge and attention to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain complex mechanical systems and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Requirements

• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Machinist, Millwright) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Extensive experience in assembling, installing, and maintaining various types of mechanical equipment and machinery.
