This role is essential for bringing innovative new products to market, from initial concept through to manufacturing. You will be responsible for designing, prototyping, testing, and refining mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet stringent performance, quality, and cost targets. Design and develop mechanical components and systems for new products using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor). Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Conduct prototype builds and perform functional testing, documenting results and identifying areas for improvement. Perform basic stress and thermal analysis to validate design concepts and ensure product robustness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing, throughout the product development process. Troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions to ensure product quality and manufacturability.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development. Proficiency in CAD software and a good understanding of 3D modeling and 2D detailing. Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, sheet metal). Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving design challenges.
