Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with HVAC specialization to design and optimize systems for commercial and industrial projects. The role is based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, but offers a fully remote work arrangement, enabling you to contribute from anywhere.

You will perform load calculations, equipment selection, and energy modeling while collaborating with architects, PMs, and other engineers.

This role will be based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal , but offers a fully remote work arrangement, allowing you to contribute from anywhere. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of HVAC solutions for commercial and industrial projects, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainable performance. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a strong focus on thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in HVAC system design and analysis.
• Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, Trace 3D, AutoCAD) and energy simulation tools.
• Solid understanding of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and energy efficiency regulations.
• Experience with sustainable and green building technologies is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
