Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute to vital energy sector projects in Mossel Bay. You will design, analyze, and implement mechanical systems for energy generation and distribution infrastructure, applying thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of relevant energy sector experience.
Proficient in CAD and analysis tools (FEA, CFD).
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and materials.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and analyze mechanical components and systems for energy infrastructure projects (power plants, renewables).
Perform detailed engineering calculations (stress, thermal, fluid dynamics) using simulation software.
Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and project documentation.
Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and external contractors to ensure project success.
Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
