Job summary

Pollock and Associates in Gauteng seeks a Mechanical Engineer on site for an exciting on-site role in a busy manufacturing operation in Boksburg. The position is open to newly graduated engineers and focuses on automation, process control, and machine design on the factory floor.

You'll work toward GCC Factories certification and a path to plant or factory management, with exposure to reliability, project work and contractor oversight, while developing technical leadership on site.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years post-qualification experience.
• Willing to work full-time on site.
• Commitment to obtaining GCC Factories and progressing into plant management.

Responsibilities

• Automation and process control on the factory floor.
• Breakdown reduction, reliability improvements and RCA initiatives.

Job description

Relocation support available for candidates outside Gauteng. A well-established manufacturing operation in Boksburg is appointing a Mechanical Engineer. The position is open to newly graduates. The role sits on the factory floor and covers automation and process control, reliability improvement, technical projects and machine design across injection moulding and general factory engineering.

The position is structured to support the Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Factories) and to develop the successful candidate towards a Plant or Factory Manager appointment, including responsibility as the site Section 16(2) appointee.

Minimum Requirements

• BEng or BSc Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, North-West University (Potchefstroom), the University of Cape Town or Stellenbosch University.
• BTech will not be considered
• 0 to 2 years post-qualification experience
• Committed to obtaining the GCC Factories and progressing into plant management
• Willing to work full-time on site.
