Job summary

The Globevest Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a leading environmental management and misting systems provider in Pretoria. You will design and develop mechanical misting suppression systems, create P&IDs, GA layouts, and manage system BoQ and flow calculations.

Requirements include Grade 12, a BEng or BTech in Mechanical, 5 years mining experience with misting systems, proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and willingness to travel across South Africa and Africa.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• B.Eng. Mechanical or BTech Mechanical qualification.
• 5 years' mining industry experience with misting systems is an advantage.
• Experience in fire and dust industries is an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Willing to travel within South Africa and Africa.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical misting suppression systems (concept, detail, installation).
• Prepare overall system P&IDs, GA's, and site layouts.
• Create system BoQ and perform design and flow calculations.
• Incorporate basic EC&I where needed and troubleshoot issues.
• Procure required materials and stay updated on technology trends.
• Travel for site visits/assessments within SA and Africa.

Our client is a leading environmental management and products company that supplies dust suppression, fire suppression and planting solutions across various industries. They are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team as soon as possible.

JOB DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop mechanical Misting suppression systems (concept, detail design and installation designs)
• Overall system (P&ID's, GA's, site layouts)
• System BoQ
• System design and flow calculations
• Basic EC&I incorporation
• Troubleshoot problems and devise solutions to resolve them
• Procurement of required materials
• Research and keep up with the dynamic technology and trends in the mechanical design spectrum

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12
• B.Eng. Mechanical or BTech Mechanical Qualification

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 5 years' experience in mining industry and misting systems will be an advantage
• Experience in the Fire Industry will be an added advantage
• Experience in the Dust Industry will be an added advantage
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Willing to travel (Site visits/Assessments), South Africa and rest of Africa clients
