Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Drafter in Paarl to create precise 2D and 3D drawings and schematics based on engineering designs. You will translate concepts into accurate drawings, ensure compliance with standards, and maintain drawing databases with revision control.

The role requires a technical diploma in drafting/mechanical design and proven CAD experience. You will collaborate with engineers and manufacturing staff to streamline drafting workflows and support BOM creation.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter to support their engineering team in Paarl. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and schematics based on engineers' designs and specifications. Your accuracy and attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring that all mechanical components and assemblies are accurately represented for manufacturing and assembly purposes. Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings, blueprints, and schematics using CAD software.
• Translate engineering concepts and sketches into accurate and complete technical drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company specifications, and client requirements.
• Maintain and update drawing databases, including revision control and documentation management.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and manufacturing personnel to clarify design details and resolve drafting issues.
• Assist in the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assembly instructions.

Requirements

• Technical diploma or certification in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Drafter or similar role.
