Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Mechanical Design Technician to support its engineering team in Queenstown. You will create and modify detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings and models from engineer designs, ensuring accuracy for manufacturing and assembly.

Qualifications

• Diploma or NC in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 1–3 years of experience as a CAD technician or drafter.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
• Good understanding of mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of GD&T is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings according to engineering specifications.
• Assist engineers in the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other documentation.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and industry best practices for clarity and accuracy.
