• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on mechanical design and product development experience.

• Strong reading of complex engineering drawings and tolerance specifications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

This position is crucial for developing and refining the mechanical aspects of our next-generation product lines. Key Responsibilities

Conceptualize, design, and detail mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using advanced CAD software. Develop 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings with precise specifications and tolerances. Perform mechanical calculations and simulations, including stress, strain, and vibration analysis, to ensure design integrity. Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to optimize designs for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Create and maintain comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs). Conduct design reviews and feasibility studies for new product development initiatives. Investigate and resolve design-related issues during prototype development and production. Stay updated on the latest design tools, technologies, and industry trends. Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification. Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical design and product development. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent. Experience with FEA software for structural and thermal analysis. Solid understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, casting), and assembly techniques. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications. Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A proactive approach to work and a commitment to quality. Experience in the mining or heavy equipment industry is an advantage.
