Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Tembisa to conceptualize, design, and develop new mechanical products while improving existing ones. You will work with product managers and manufacturing engineers to deliver innovative solutions that meet performance, cost, and quality targets.

You will design components using 3D CAD, run simulations, prepare BOMs, and support production optimization. Strong collaboration and communication are essential for success in this hands-on role.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with FEA software.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, stamping).

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD modeling software.

• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are optimized for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform design reviews and document design changes and improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues encountered during prototyping, testing, and production phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
