Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for Randburg, Gauteng. You will design mechanical components and assemblies for manufacturing machinery using CAD tools, and ensure performance and safety standards, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a hybrid setting.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in industrial equipment, proficient in SolidWorks or Inventor, and familiar with FEA as an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in industrial equipment or machinery.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor).
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and mechanical principles.
• Experience with engineering analysis tools (FEA) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for manufacturing machinery using CAD software.
• Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to validate design integrity.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are production-ready and cost-effective.
• Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues during the product development cycle.
