Job summary

The Working Earth in Gauteng is seeking an experienced Marketing Leader to develop and execute the annual strategy across brand, campaigns and channels. You will drive digital, social, content and communications, partnering with Sales and Operations to support growth and lead generation.

You will manage budgets, agencies and vendors, measure KPIs, and ensure compliant, brand-consistent customer communications across branches. Travel between sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing/related field.
• 5–7 years' progressive marketing experience across multiple marketing disciplines.
• Experience developing and implementing marketing strategies and integrated campaigns.
• Strong experience in brand, digital, social media, content and communications.
• Experience managing marketing budgets, agencies and external suppliers.
• Ability to interpret marketing analytics and measure campaign performance.
• Previous people management or team leadership experience.
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between branches.
• Experience in funeral services, insurance, financial services or another regulated/customer-sensitive environment is advantageous.
• Additional South African language proficiency is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Campaigns: Lead integrated traditional, digital, social and community campaigns from concept and briefing through to execution, measurement and optimisation.
• Digital & Content: Own digital, website, social media, content and paid media strategy, including engagement, lead generation and online reputation.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor customers, competitors and market trends and turn insights into actionable recommendations for senior management.
• Budget & Performance: Manage marketing expenditure, track KPIs, campaign effectiveness and ROI, and provide regular performance reporting.
• Agencies & Suppliers: Manage briefs, deliverables, costs and performance of creative, media, digital and other marketing partners.
• Community Management: Lead the Community Management function, ensuring customer enquiries, complaints and reputational risks are managed professionally and sensitively.
• Growth & Sales Support: Partner with Sales and Operations on lead generation, branch marketing, customer acquisition, activations, events, exhibitions, sponsorships and sales collateral.
• Internal Communications: Support key organisational communications and ensure employees are aligned with important campaigns and brand messaging.
• Compliance: Ensure marketing and customer communications meet brand, POPIA, confidentiality and appropriate regulatory requirements.
