Job summary

African Leadership Academy (ALA) seeks a Marketing Associate to coordinate day-to-day marketing activities and bring the Academy’s stories to life. Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the CEO, the Marketing Associate will work with external service providers in social media, paid advertising, design, photography, and videography.

This hands-on role combines content creation, project coordination, and collaboration across departments to ensure ALA’s marketing is engaging, consistent, and delivered

Qualifications

• At least two years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, social media, or content creation.
• Experience managing social media channels and engaging online communities.
• Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, digital advertising, and analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate marketing priorities into clear plans, briefs, and deadlines.
• Provide the social media team with photographs, videos, background information, and draft copy to support posts.
• Capture campus events and coordinate with staff and students to source timely content.
• Review social content for accuracy and coordinate approvals across teams.
• Manage the marketing inbox and respond to messages, comments, and inquiries.
• Write blog posts and stories for website, newsletters, annual report, and outreach campaigns.
