Job summary

Santam Specialist Solutions has a career opportunity for a Marketing Assistant in the Construction and Engineering (SCE) business area, based in Wanderers Office Park. This role reports to the National Marketing Manager and focuses on broker service across sales, business development and technical underwriting at the new business stage.

Qualifications

• Matric/ Grade 12 is required.
• Post Graduate B. Comm, Engineering or Insurance Qualification is preferred.
• RE 5 is required.
• Proven sales experience in commercial insurance industry is essential.
• Engineering underwriting experience will be an advantage.
• Broker relationship management, business development, portfolio management and technical underwriting at new business stage.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end service and support to brokers, focusing on Sales, Business Development and Technical Underwriting at the new business stage.
• Servicing broker requests including enquiries and providing telephonic/email support to the intermediary on record and authorised representatives from the brokerage.
• Handle general insurance and policy-specific enquiries and assist with quoting on instruction, policy maintenance and renewal, including engineering aspects of policies.
• Assist in resolving insurance queries within required timeframes and compliance requirements.
• Maintain client follow-ups for policies that are cancelled to retain the policy on the books and manage expectations on turnaround times.

Santam Specialist Solutions has a career opportunity for a Marketing Assistant in the Construction and Engineering (SCE) business area which will be based in Wanderers Office Park.

The position will report to the National Marketing Manager.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The primary purpose of the insurance marketing assistant role is to focus on providing an end-to-end service and support to brokers. Main functions include Sales, Business Development and Technical Underwriting at new business stage.

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE?

• This role is focused on but not limited to; servicing broker requests, including enquiries.
• Technical underwriting at new business stage.
• Providing telephonic/ email support to the intermediary on record, authorised representatives from the brokerage, and broker services;
• Dealing with general insurance and policy specific enquiries;
• Quoting on instruction / policy maintenance / renewal and engineering aspects of policies;
• Assisting to resolve all insurance queries within required timeframe and compliance requirements;
• Undertaking client follow-ups when policies are cancelled to ascertain the reasons and attempt to retain the policy onto books;
• Managing client expectations on expected turnaround times for submitted requests;
• Adhering to underwriting criteria and regional requirements;
• Assisting in implementing solutions for improvement; and
• Standing in for Marketers should they be absent or on leave during busy periods or absence of key resources, assisting where required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
