Job summary

Headhunters is seeking an experienced finance professional to oversee the accounting function within a manufacturing environment. You will manage the bookkeeper, creditors, debtors and stock, implement controls and ensure accurate entries while training staff as needed.

Key activities include month-end, VAT/ EMP201s, fixed asset register, costings, BOM cost fluctuations, and assisting with audits such as BBBEE and AIS. Manufacturing focus essential.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent is required.
• Formal accounting qualification is required.
• SYSPRO expertise with minimum 5 years hands-on experience across Cashbook, Creditors, Debtors and Inventory modules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting function of the business.
• Manage the bookkeeper, debtor, creditor and stock functions.
• Implement systems and controls.
• Ensure accurate recording of entries and train staff where needed.
• Stock movement checks and processing.
• Verifying cycle counts and costing (BOM) fluctuations.
• Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and report scrap.
• Prepare month-end journals, VAT and EMP201s and maintain Fixed Asset Register.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and forecasts; drive cost savings.
