Grinding Operation
Manual Lathe Machine Operator
Grind external or cylindrical tapered surfaces.
Read and interpret drawings, and blueprints.
Determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground.
Collect and assemble required products.
Determine grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used.
Dress the grinding wheel according to specifications.
Lift or hoist workpieces using a crane.
Confirm ground workpiece has the correct specifications.
Change worn grinding wheels or worn tip.
Utilize prescribed measuring tools to confirm product dimensions.
Set up automatic work-feeding device.
Ensure use proper wheel guards on all grinding machines
Observe machine during operation
Examine work pieces for any defects and keep records
House keeping
Health, Safety and Environment Follow strict safety regulations such as wearing gloves, aprons, protective masks, safety shoes etc.
Demonstrate and promote a proactive commitment to health & safety, wellbeing and the environment whilst complying with all laws and company policies

Daily Responsibilities
Attend and participate in daily morning production meeting
Produce according to the set standard time, daily targets and delivery dates
Complete daily output production sheets
Recommend innovative ways to make your work better and easier
Cross train as backup in other areas of the manufacturing plant
Complete any tasks that may arise as instructed by the Production manager and or Supervisor.
Ability to work overtime when required to
Participate in resolving breakdowns and machine maintenance
