Job summary

Gold One Group Limited in Gauteng is seeking a qualified Mine Equipment Operator to operate a Manitou and assist with routine maintenance during shifts, ensuring the machine remains in good working order.

The role requires Grade 10–12 or equivalent, a Code 08/10 driver’s license, an MQA Competency B Certificate, 1–3 years of trackless mining experience, fluency in English (and other SA languages), and legal SA citizenship with a clear criminal record and medical fitness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a trackless mining environment.
• Proficiency in English and any other official SA languages.
• Legal South African citizenship and medical fitness as per OHP.

Responsibilities

• Work a cycle or rotation of shifts
• Operate the Manitou
• Assist with and monitor preventative and breakdown maintenance during shift (fill up fuel, oil, lubrication, etc.)
• Be observant / vigilant when operating the Manitou carrying / or transporting equipment, assisting in installation of pipes (vent and water pipes etc.) and other related duties that are performed at heights
• Verify level of the machine using specified levels
• Ensure that the machine is in good operating order and report any faults and inconsistencies to Supervisor and Control Room
• Always take instructions from the Supervisor responsible for the area / workplace
• Manage and maintain in area of responsibility in accordance with mine standards, procedures and practices
• Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
