DP World in South Africa seeks a strategic transport operations leader to formulate tactical strategies and delivery plans, aiming to improve profitability and client satisfaction.

You will analyse reports, manage risk, develop capacity plans, and drive customer service excellence through governance and workforce optimization.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Transport/Logistics Management.
• Up to 8 years of experience with at least 5 years in leadership or specialist road freight roles.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment technology (specifications & applications).

To formulate a tactical transport operations strategy and associated practice delivery plan and influence operational implementation, contributing to client's satisfaction, reduced risk and improved profitability.

Key Performance Areas

• Implement corporate governance and compliance policies in order to manage risk liabilities


• Analyse, interpret and produce detailed reports explaining trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies measured against planned activities


• Develop and ensure implementation of people capacity plans in line with performance objectives


• Develop initiatives to enhance customer service excellence


• Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance


• management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment


• Create an engaging, enabling and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition by demonstrating leadership through personal commitment to organisational values


• Develop a plan for practice changes and specify the priorities of delivery plans and resources needed 1 to 2 years


• Contribute to the setting of budgets, minimise expenditure and manage costs and assets effectively


• Develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders that contributes to a culture of customer service excellence

Qualifications Required

• Tertiary Qualification in Transport/Logistics Management

Experience and Skills Required

• Up to 8 years of experience in a similar environment with at least 5 years operational leadership or specialist experience in a road freight company.


• Vehicle and equipment technology (specifications & applications).
