Job summary

Valterra Platinum is seeking a Production Manager to ensure safe, profitable management of the Production Area with 3–5 years of accountability. The role entails leading safety and sustainability initiatives, managing mining operations, and building strong management and technical teams across the operation.

You will drive continuous improvement and asset optimization while maintaining regulatory compliance and productive stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Mining degree and Mine Managers Certificate of Competence are required.
• Blasting Certificate is required.

• Provides visible leadership in safety, sustainable development and Valterra Platinum values.
• Manages mining operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet short term and long term production objectives.
• Creates, develops, mentors and motivates effective management, operational, maintenance and technical teams.
• Ensures correct resources are available to deliver business targets (e.g. product quality and volume).
• Ensures compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and leading practices.
• Establishes and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Accountable for continuous improvement and asset optimisation initiatives for mining processes.

Job Description

The Production Manager holds the legal 3.1a position in terms of the MHSA and is therefore overall responsible to all stakeholders to ensure the safe and profitable management of the Production Area with 3 - 5 years' timeframe accountability.

Qualifications

• Mining Degree
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competence

Experience:

• At least seven years’ mining experience at metalliferous mines

Technical Skills

• Financial qualification through MDP or similar
• Mine Health and Safety Act knowledge
