Job summary

Exceed Human Resource Consultants in Cape Town is looking for a Management Accountant to lead their team in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The role involves preparing, reviewing, and analysing management accounts while collaborating with finance business partners on budgeting and financial planning.

The ideal candidate should have an Honours Degree in Accounting or Finance, strong experience in management accounting, and excellent leadership and analytical skills. Candidates familiar with D365 will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Management Accounts team, ensuring accurate and timely monthly financial reporting.
• Prepare, review, and analyse monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Provide financial insights, variance analysis, and reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Lead the month-end close process and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Mentor, coach, and develop the management accounting team to achieve high performance.
• Collaborate with finance business partners on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Support audits, statutory reporting, and finance transformation initiatives.
• Drive process improvements, standardisation, and finance system enhancements.
• Ensure reporting deadlines are consistently met across multiple entities.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong experience in management accounting within an international or multi-entity environment.
• Proven experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP experience (D365 advantageous).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage strict reporting deadlines.
