VACANCY: Management Accountant

Hands-On, Grounded, and Exceptionally Organised Management Accountant

Our client is seeking a seasoned Management Accountant who combines operational precision with strategic financial insight. This role calls for someone mature, methodical, and deeply reliable—an individual who thrives in the engine room of the business, ensuring financial integrity while providing the analysis and foresight that guide management decisions. You’ll keep the numbers clean, the processes tight, and the leadership team empowered with accurate, actionable information.

Key Responsibilities & Outputs
  1. Transaction Recording & Core Accounting
    • Oversee accurate transaction recording and bookkeeping across the business.
    • Manage invoicing, debtor follow‑ups, and supplier payments with disciplined cash‑flow oversight.
    • Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
  2. Payroll & Compliance
    • Administer payroll and statutory submissions with precision and confidentiality.
    • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and maintain accurate employee records.
    • Act as custodian of payroll controls and reporting standards.
  3. Management Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare and deliver month‑end, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
    • Provide variance analysis, cost tracking, and revenue forecasting to support decision‑making.
    • Partner with management on budgeting, performance monitoring, and scenario planning.
    • Translate financial data into clear insights that drive operational and strategic choices.
  4. Audit, Controls & Governance
    • Lead preparation for external audits and liaise with auditors.
    • Strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance financial governance.
  5. Systems, Tools & Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain financial records using Xero and other relevant platforms.
    • Ensure data integrity and system accuracy across all financial inputs.
    • Champion the use of technology and reporting tools to improve efficiency and insight.
Requirements
  • BCom degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting, with strong exposure to management reporting.
  • Proficiency in Xero and payroll systems.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into meaningful business insights.
