Job summary

Elite Search is seeking a skilled Management Accountant in Pretoria to own monthly management accounts, the month-end process, and provide actionable variance commentary to support decision-making.

You will assist with statutory financial statements, GL reconciliations, fixed assets, AP/AR, budgeting and forecasting, and audits, requiring a finance degree; CIMA ideal, or studying toward CIMA. You must be precise, independent, and deadline-driven.

Qualifications

• A Finance/Accounting degree is required.
• CIMA qualification ideal or actively studying toward CIMA.
• Minimum 3 years commercial experience (or 1 year if SAIPA articles completed).
• Hands-on experience with a finance ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts from trial balance to final reports.
• Own the month-end process (journals, accruals, provisions, prepayments).

What You'll Be Doing

Management Accounting

• Prepare monthly management accounts from raw trial balance through to final reports
• Own the full month-end process journals, accruals, provisions, prepayments
• Deliver variance analysis and commentary that actually helps decision-making
• Support budgeting and forecasting

Financial Accounting

• Assist with statutory financial statements
• Maintain the general ledger and run reconciliations
• Manage fixed asset accounting and the asset register
• Handle bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Prepare monthly balance sheet recons (accruals, provisions, prepayments)

AP & AR

• Keep a solid handle on AP and AR functions
• Review and reconcile supplier and customer accounts
• Support cash flow management

Reporting & Board Packs

• Compile monthly management reports and board packs
• Deliver commentary and insights for executive management
• Prepare schedules for the CFO and leadership team

Audit & Compliance

• Support external and internal audits
• Prepare audit schedules and documentation
• Keep everything compliant accounting standards, VAT, tax, and policy

What You'll Need

• A relevant Finance/Accounting degree
• CIMA qualified (ideal), or actively studying towards CIMA
• Minimum 3 years commercial experience or 1 year if you've completed SAIPA articles
• Hands-on experience on a finance ERP system
• Strong Excel skills
• Sharp attention to detail and strong analytical ability
• Comfortable working independently under tight deadlines
