Job summary

Network Finance is seeking a Management Accountant for a well-established South African insurer. The role focuses on compiling, analysing and reporting management accounts to stakeholders across the business.

Duties include posting monthly journals, timely preparation of management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, and commentary on monthly results. CA(SA) and IFRS expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) with articles (SAICA).
• 3+ years in financial services, including articles.
• IFRS knowledge and strong management accounting skills.

Responsibilities

• Post monthly journals and ensure timely close.
• Prepare and analyse management accounts for stakeholders.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Reconcile balance sheet and income statements, with commentary.
• Analyse monthly results and explain variances.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Financial Services industry (including articles).
• 1 - 2 years post articles experience in a commercial environment.
• Insurance accounting would be advantageous.
• Financial and management accounting (IFRS).
• Knowledge of systems and controls, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
