Job summary

Manpower Sa (Pty) Ltd is looking for a qualified Maintenance Technician to join a manufacturing environment. The role involves carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently, and coordinating with external contractors as needed.

You will also manage maintenance records and contribute to food safety and hygiene standards. The ideal candidate has an N6 Millwright qualification, 3–5 years of relevant maintenance experience, and proficiency

Qualifications

• N6 Millwright qualification is required.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on equipment and facilities.
• Perform lubrication, inspections, equipment start-ups and routine maintenance checks.
• Change formats on fruit preparation machinery, including cutting, filtering and screening equipment.
• Identify and report equipment faults, breakdowns and potential safety risks.
• Complete maintenance job cards and ensure all maintenance activities and machinery changes are properly recorded.
• Monitor external contractors performing maintenance and repair work.
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment and general housekeeping standards.
• Inspect lifting equipment and monitor battery levels.
• Assist with maintenance stock control, stocktakes and reporting of spare parts usage.
• Record daily water, gas and energy consumption.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety and environmental requirements.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
• Participate in standby duties according to the shift schedule.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum N6 qualification as a Millwright.
• 3-5 years' relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Good working knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good command of English.

Advantageous Qualifications

• Wireman's Licence.
• Forklift licence.
• Working at Heights training.
• Boiler Technician training or experience.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, working two rotating shifts.
• Flexibility to work weekend overtime and attend callouts when required.
