About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations at their facility in Bloemfontein . This leadership role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the efficient execution of preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across all plant equipment and facilities. You will be responsible for optimizing maintenance schedules, managing spare parts inventory, and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, committed to maximizing equipment uptime and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the Free State province.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure efficient workflow.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programs for all plant machinery and facilities.
• Oversee the scheduling and execution of reactive maintenance tasks, responding promptly to equipment failures.
• Manage the inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring availability while controlling costs.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with production and engineering departments to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a maintenance or facilities management environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems common in industrial settings.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a technical team.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or similar inventory and scheduling software.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency in Bloemfontein .
