Placements24 is seeking a proactive and experienced Site Maintenance Engineer to manage and oversee maintenance operations at our client’s Vereeniging facility. This role ensures continuous operation of plant machinery and infrastructure while leading a team of technicians.

You will implement preventative maintenance strategies, respond to breakdowns, and uphold safety and environmental standards in Gauteng's industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant experience in a Site Maintenance Engineer or similar supervisory role within an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, control systems, and maintenance best practices.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Must be able to work on-site in Vereeniging and be available for on-call duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all plant equipment.
• Oversee daily maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring efficient task allocation and performance.
• Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with suppliers for necessary equipment and parts.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
