Job summary

Merand Corbett & Associates is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the Helderberg area. The role oversees maintenance and gardening teams, plans and inspects work, and performs building, electrical, plumbing, and irrigation repairs. Strong leadership and English/Afrikaans fluency are required; a technical diploma is advantageous.

After-hours availability is required. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reside close to Helderberg.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required; a technical diploma is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license and own transport are essential.
• Must reside near the Helderberg area.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in general building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, repairs).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with garden maintenance and irrigation systems.
• Computer literacy including MS Office.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans; isiXhosa advantageous.
• Previous supervisory/management experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the maintenance and gardening teams
• Plan, prioritise and inspect maintenance work
• Perform general building, equipment and irrigation repairs
• Conduct routine site inspections and quality checks
• Manage tools, stock and procurement
• Liaise with contractors and the Estate Manager
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Be available after hours for emergency maintenance when required
