Sasol Limited in Secunda is seeking a Maintenance Operator Grade 2 Mechanical to support the Mechanical Maintenance team with reliable equipment and adherence to procedures. The role requires a Grade 12/N3 with Mathematics, Physical Science and English, and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Valid driver’s license is required, and the position emphasizes safety, house-keeping, and proactive fault identification to maintain plant availability.

Responsabilités

• Apply and maintain safety in a working environment
• Participates in root cause analyses and provides feedback to RCA teams
• Carries out work according to planning
• Participates in daily morning meetings to discuss work assignments
• Provides adequate feedback to supervisor on work progress
• Applies and adheres to safety standards and requirements to support safety
• Maintains good housekeeping and adheres to waste disposal procedures
• Identifies faults by using applicable methods to ensure equipment availability
• Attends training courses and seminars to improve competency and skills
• Identifies personal training and development needs and incorporates into PDP with group leader approval
• Support the goals and vision of the business by meeting deadlines
• Performs plant inspections and repairs as required to ensure equipment reliability
• Provides feedback to customers on work progress
• Conducts My IMS inspections to maintain plant sustainability
• Ensures correct history feedback is captured to improve renewals/upgrades and critical spares
• Attends toolbox talks to improve plant safety
• Attends PDAs and RCAs to improve plant safety and stability
• Spot continuous improvement opportunities in own work area

Purpose of Job

Maintenance Operator Mechanical supports the Mechanical Maintenance team by providing effective equipment maintenance assistance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes, to increase stability and maintain sustainability of equipment.

Key Accountabilities
