Hospitality and Outdoor is seeking a Maintenance Manager for a luxury lodge in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape. You will oversee all maintenance operations, from buildings to equipment, and lead a team to deliver high standards of service.

The role requires hands-on leadership, planning and strong technical skills in electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, with a focus on preventative maintenance and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Maintenance Manager role.
• Trade qualification is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of facilities, machinery and equipment.
• Excellent understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.

Our client, a prestigious luxury lodge in Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Cape, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the complete maintenance operation of the property. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on maintenance professional with strong leadership, planning and technical skills to join a high‑end hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance of the lodge, business areas and facilities
• Maintain buildings, fixtures, furniture, equipment, gardens and recreational areas
• Implement and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance programme
• Ensure equipment is serviced regularly to prolong its lifespan
• Manage maintenance stock control and achieve expense budgets
• Ensure compliance with HACCP principles in kitchens, bars and food production areas
• Manage and lead the maintenance team according to relevant legislation and procedures
• Ensure all work meets company standards
• Communicate with guests and conduct regular satisfaction checks
• Complete additional duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager – Essential
• Previous lodge experience preferred
• Trade qualification highly advantageous
• Strong knowledge of facilities, machinery and equipment
• Excellent understanding of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
• In-depth knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration and single/three‑phase electrical systems
• Excellent all‑rounder with strong plumbing, building and general maintenance skills
• Strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal abilities
• Excellent attention to detail, initiative and problem‑solving skills
• Valid driver’s licence – Essential; PDP advantageous
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Strong administrative, budgeting, planning and reporting capabilities
• Ability to act in good faith and in the best interests of the company
