What You’ll Be Doing
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of mechanical systems including conveyors, chilling units, hydraulics, pneumatics, saws, and other specialised equipment.
  • Implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and boost efficiency.
  • Partner with QA, production, and HSE teams to ensure all machinery meets strict hygiene, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Drive innovation by designing and adapting mechanical layouts to enhance production output and safety.
  • Lead rapid response to breakdowns, keeping operations running seamlessly.
  • Manage technical documentation, logs, and equipment records with accuracy.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of new machinery, liaising with external vendors where needed.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in (or equivalent technical qualification).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance within a food processing or industrial environment (abattoir experience is a strong advantage).
  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
  • Skilled at reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • A strong problem-solver who thrives under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to work independently and in a team.
