Job summary

Sasol Limited is seeking a Maintenance & Engineering Planning Assistant in Durban to provide continuous input and support into maintenance, shutdown and project planning activities across business units. You will apply planning processes at an operational level, adhering to work management principles and following the Work Management instruction and RACI.

You will use SAP systems to plan tasks, report on progress, and coach fellow employees and learners, while helping achieve safety targets and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant operational experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with SAP planning and maintenance tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use SAP and SAP Work Management to plan maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate maintenance, shutdowns and project planning activities.
• Ensure work management process schedule adherence.
• Train and coach colleagues and learners.
• Report progress and corrective actions in monthly maintenance planning reports.
• Support SHE targets and safety metrics within area of responsibility.

Maintenance & Engineering Planning Assistant

Provide a continuous input and support into maintenance, shutdown and project planning activities at various business units and to apply the planning processes at an operational level while ensuring and adhering to work management principles. Follow the Work Management work instruction and RACI.

Requirements

• High School / School Diploma or similar
• 2+ relevant year operational experience

Responsibilities

• Using company software and procedures to complete tasks: Examples: SAP (Financial System), SAP Work management system (Job cards/Planning priorities/Scoping/ Maintenance Strategies/PR’s/PO’s etc.)
• Carry out engineering planning activities for specific sections/ departments that optimise sweating of assets ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to and reduce total cost of ownership.
• Ensure work management process schedule adherence.
• Adherence to Predictive maintenance program – plan vs. actual per department.
• Ensures that engineering planning activities are achieved in the most cost-effective manner possible.
• Department operating within budget (Budget / Actual).
• Trains and coach fellow employees and learners.
• Report on progress, corrective action, make information available in format as agreed by the planning department to the business units engineering personnel Monthly maintenance planning aviation reports.
• Discuss progress, exception reports, follow up actions at agreed forums.
• Reporting on work management process compliance.
• Support departments to achieve set SHE targets by coordinating planning within appointed area of responsibility.
• Rand per ton (R/t, Tons per CM per shift (t/cm/shift).
• Volumes vs. monthly TQF (Including Quality).
• Work management process schedule adherence.
• Implements new methodologies and technology, within the planning environment aligned with the Natref strategy and reports back on effectiveness.
• Implementation of new technology and methodologies as determined by Sasol Mining strategy.
• Monitor the performance of new technology and methodologies and reports back.
• Accountable for striving towards best-in-class safety performance and continuous improvement of key safety metric.
• SHE compliance rates vs targets (especially major findings, % outstanding actions on findings.
• Participate in industry bodies and standard setting.
• Compliance to engineering governance bodies (standardization committees).
• Provide solutions aligned with business unit goals and values aligned legal requirements.
• Demonstrate the desired behaviours in agreement with the Sasol/Natref Values.
• Expert utilisation and direction.
• Ensure that personal development plan is completed, implemented and tracked.
• Set and work towards own performance targets and goals as per personal performance agreement.
