Placements24 is seeking a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join a power generation facility in Mossel Bay. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems to minimize downtime and maximize reliability in an essential energy facility.

The role requires a strong background in industrial electrical maintenance, with hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, and electrical testing tools, working both independently and as part of a maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with Trade Test Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably power generation/heavy manufacturing.
• Experience with PLCs and VFDs is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant electrical equipment, including motors, generators, switchgear, and control panels.
• Diagnose electrical faults and malfunctions using testing equipment and tools.
• Repair or replace faulty electrical components and wiring according to specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.

Key Responsibilities
