Job summary

Rheinmetall Denel Munition in Somerset West, Western Cape, seeks a qualified Electrician for planned and general maintenance of plant electrical equipment. You will perform scheduled inspections, fault finding, and sign off job cards while adhering to lockout procedures and safety standards.

Experience with explosive environments, PLCs, and SAP ERP is advantageous. The role offers extensive training opportunities, an incentive bonus, a pension fund, and an on-site canteen with dietary options.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate or Equivalent.
• Trade Test in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years’ experience as a qualified Electrician.
• Knowledge of electrical installations requirements and regulations in explosive environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain infrastructure and services as per job cards for maximum availability.
• Perform planned maintenance and breakdown maintenance.
• Do fault finding and sign off task when completed.
• Apply lock out procedure without exception and sign off.
• Read and understand technical drawings.
• Plan material and procedure for specific work and ensure timely completion.
