Job summary

Sought Out in Cape Town is seeking a qualified fitter and turner or machinist to join a busy workshop. You will plan, set up and run conventional lathe and milling jobs, and also handle CNC milling; CNC lathe is a bonus if you have it.

You should be reliable, with good attendance, able to work overtime, and a team player with strong planning and time-keeping skills under pressure. CAD, SolidWorks or Mastercam experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Fitter & Turner or Machinist.
• Reliable transport to/from work and for overtime.
• Excellent attendance and good health.
• Willing to work overtime and adapt in a fast-changing workshop.
• Strong planning and time-keeping skills; able to work under pressure.
• Team player with a flexible attitude.

Responsibilities

• Conventional lathe: plan, set up and run jobs.
• Conventional milling: plan, set up and run jobs.
• CNC milling: plan, set up and run jobs.
• CNC lathe: will be an added bonus.
• Work with CAD, SolidWorks, and Mastercam or similar software.
